Rec’Repair Suspends Adhesive for Skid Plates

There seems to be  some confusion about our  supplying the adhesive for Rec’Repair Skid Plates for canoes and kayaks.

Due to the short shelf life of the adhesive that Rec’Repair began supplying, the decision was made to STOP SUPPLYING the adhesive.

Rec’Repair is working on finding a cost-effective adhesive with a longer shelf life, but until that time, we will recommend an adhesive to get the job done.

    I just bought one of the skid plate kits. What type of adhesive would you recommend using on a fiberglass kayak and a Wenonah tuffweave canoe?

    The recommended adhesive for the skid plate application is 3M’s Scotch Weld DP 8005. A suggested on-line retailer is http://www.ellsworth.com/.
